It is a useless case of blaming everything on the Pope and making contradicting statements about honoring him while accusing him with treason in the same time.
Sad because while many honor the man, a minority of his own (basically you, and this is a tiny minority) are doing nothing less than trashing him.
In any case, if this forum is supposed to be political, I wonder where it will get its political weight if not from the Copts in Egypt, who are predominanently pro the Pope. Even by just using political calculations, away from any religious values the members of this forum lack definitely, it is stupid to present yourselves as anti-Papists.
Go and form organizations and establish political forums and that is great and to be encouraged, but leave the Pope and the hierarchs alone.
Take the advice or leave it. If it is not possible to change your negative feelings towards the pope, then look at it from a political point of view, nothing less.
And the Pope is not the obstacle for your boost into the political world. The church does not oppress you, so if you wonna go and be politicians, go ahead.
Your inability to achieve a progess to your agenda is not to be blamed on the Pope.
IWCAB,
what is the truth ? What exactly is required of the Pope to meet it ? The contradiction in this position like the one Abd El-Messih offered is the double standard. While a word of the Pope not placed in its right context will open the Gates of Hell on the Church, your word or Abd El-Messih's word does not carry the same weight. Go into the street and say whatever you want, and then get martyred, but it will an individual case without results.
In no single statement by the Pope did he give up any of the believes of Orthodoxy nor can he be pinned on any mistake, theological, sotoriological or christological. None.
In Koshah, H.H. said clearly that he does not accept the verdict of the court and that he appeals to God after having appealed to the court. How exactly is H.H. to be blamed for this ?
Does H.H. make mistakes, and does he sin ? Yes, but nothing that touched the faith or can be taken against the integrity of the man.
This forum, if not drastically changed , is not a good image for us Copts.
