باسم الآب والابن والروح القدس إله واحد

أمين

منذ سنين ونحن نناضل من أجل أبسط حقوقنا الإنسانية وهو حق حرية العقيدة .. وحرية العبادة .

نـُسجن ونـُعذب ونطارد وننتهك بكل أشكال الانتهاك لأجل إيماننا بالمسيح يسوع رباً ومخلصاً .. رغم أن حياتنا وسلوكنا أصبحوا أفضل في المسيح . فكثيرون منا كانوا إرهابيون ( جماعات إسلامية ) . كنا نحرق كنائس ، ونقتل ونـُكفر المجتمع كله ولكن بعد إيماننا بالمسيح أصبحنا مسالمين .. منتمين لأوطاننا .. وخيرين لأقصى حد .

لكن رغم كل هذا التغيير نحو الأفضل .. لا ترى الحكومة الإسلامية إلا منطقة تغيير عقيدتنا من الإسلام إلى المسيحية وهذا الحق مقبول دستورياً ومرفوض شريعةً . ( من بدل دينه فاقتلوه ) ولأن الشريعة الإسلامية هي المصدر الرئيسي للدستور المصري

أصبحنا نحن المتنصرين بقدرة هذا القادر مرتدين عن الإسلام ، نحتاج للإستتابة ثلاث أيام وبعد ذلك قطع الرقاب . ولكن مشيخة الأزهر رأفت بحالنا وجعلت الاستتابة طول الحياة ( سجن مدى الحياة ومراقبة وترهيب وترغيب مدى الحياة !! )

وبين فكي الدستور والشريعة يا قلبي احزن .. ولكي يحلوا معضلة هذا التناقض بين حرية العقيدة في الدستور وحد الردة في الشريعة ، وضعونا ما بين فكي قانون غير قانوني ( المادة الثانية من قانون العقوبات تطالب بمحاكمة كل من يزدري أو يحتقر بأحد الأديان السماوية ) !! والمقصود بالأديان السماوية هنا هو الإسلام .

كيف ؟ ولماذا ؟ لا أحد يعرف

وهل يعقل لمن أراد أن يختار عقيدة أخرى غير الإسلام يتهم بالازدراء والتحقير والعكس غير صحيح !!

ولذلك نحن المتنصرون نطالب …



1. نطالب بحقنا الذي يكفله لنا الدستور وكل مواثيق والمعاهدات الدولية لحقوق الإنسان في العالم .. ونطلب من الحكومة المصرية ألا تتعامل بمكيالين ، فكما تتعامل مع المسيحي الذي يريد أن يسلم وتعطي له الحق في تغيير عقيدته واسمه وبطاقته وكل أوراقه الرسمية في أقل من 24 ساعة .

فنحن المتنصرون نطالب بنفس الحق .. حق المواطنة الذي يعطينا نفس الحقوق ويلزمنا بنفس الواجبات .

( مسيحيين غير مضطهدين لأن لهم حق حرية اختيار العقيدة ومسلمين مضطهدين لأن ليس لهم الحق في حرية العقيدة !!! )



2. نطالب بإسقاط كل قضايا التزوير الخاصة بالمتنصرين بدون قيد أو شرط .. لأن الحكومة المصرية هي المسئول الأول عن هذا الإجراء غير القانوني لأنها حرمتنا حق أساسي من حقوقنا القانونية وهو حق تغيير العقيدة والاسم والبطاقة وكل الأوراق الرسمية . ( أعطونا حقوقنا ونحن لا نزور ) .



3. نطالب الحكومة المصرية وكل مراكز حقوق الإنسان في العالم بوقف التعذيب والاعتقالات التعسفية والملاحقات الأمنية وتحريض العائلات ضد من يتنصر من المسلمين لأنه من الاستحالة في القرن الحادي والعشرين أن تظل محاكم تفتيش الضمائر والقلوب والعقول مـُسلطة علينا إلى الآن



4. نقول للحكومة المصرية أنها كانت تماطل طوال السنين الماضية .. رغم ما دفعناه من عمرنا وكياننا وأحلامنا وراء القضبان والسجون والمعتقلات .. ولكن أمام هذا الكم الهائل من المتنصرين الذي يتزايد كل يوم ، ليس أمامها خيار إلا أن تحترم رغبة آلاف من المسلمين الذين يريدون اعتناق المسيحية . وليس فقط اعتناقاً باطنياً أو ضميري لكن اعتناق كلي لكي يقدروا أن يحيوا ويعبدوا إلههم ومخلصهم يسوع المسيح بحرية كاملة ويقدروا أن يلدوا ويربوا أطفالهم في رحاب المسيح يسوع إلهنا ومخلصنا .



أخيراً وليس آخراً إننا نثق بكلمات الكتاب المقدس:



"في العالم سيكون لكم ضيق لكن ثقوا أنا قد غلبت العالم"

"فان كنا أولادا فإننا ورثة أيضا ورثة الله ووارثون مع المسيح.ان كنا نتألم معه لكي نتمجد ايضا معه فاني احسب أن آلام الزمان الحاضر لا تقاس بالمجد العتيد أن يستعلن فينا."

إلى من يهمه الأمر

نحن نعلم ان

في القانون المصري يعتبر تغيير الأوراق من الإسلام للمسيحية تزوير لو لم يكن رسميا ,ولكن لا يوجد هناك قانون يسمح لذلك لعدم عداله القانون واحترامه لحقوق الانسان . رغم أن القانون يسمح بالعكس ( التغيير من المسيحية للإسلام ) لأن في الدستور هناك بند لحرية العقيدة لكن بما أن الشريعة الإسلامية هي المصدر الأساسي للتشريع في مصر لذلك فلا يجوز للمسلم تغيير أوراقه .

في تلك القضايا ( القبض على المتنصرين واتهامهم بالتزوير ) هناك الكثير من الحالات لم تكن تعلم أن تغيير الأوراق غير قانوني حيث أنهم يتصورون أن مثلما يحدث مع المسيحي الذي يعتنق الإسلام فمن حقهم أيضاً أن تصدر لهم بطاقات مسيحية .

المطلوب الآن أن يحدث العدل في القضيه ويتم تغيير القانون ، فكما أن المسيحي من حقه أن، يغير أوراقه للإسلام ينبغي أن يصبح من حق المسلم تغيير أوراقه .

Part of massive crackdown against believers

CAIRO, EGYPT (ANS) -- Some 22 Christians, including many secret converts from Islam to Christianity, have been arrested by Egyptian police and are "being beaten, interrogated and tortured," a major Christian rights group said Friday, Oct. 24.

The well informed Barnabas Fund, which supports persecuted believers, said the abuses began when Christians were taken from Alexandria to police stations in the capital Cairo as part of a fresh "dramatic" anti-Christian crackdown that began Tuesday, Oct. 21.

Among the first to be arrested were two converts from Islam, Yusuf Samuel Makari Suliman, whose former Muslim name was Muhammad Ahmad Imam al-Kurdi and his wife Mariam Girgis Makar formerly Saher As-Sayid Abd al-Rani, the organization said.

"The following day some seven others were also arrested and taken to the office of the Attorney General."

DRAMATIC SWEEPS

Thursday Oct. 23 that number rose to 22 as other "converts and Christians who have tried to assist them were rounded up and arrested in dramatic sweeps by police," the Barnabus Fund added in a statement send to ASSIST News Service (ANS).

"Local Christians fear the arrests will continue and many other converts from Islam, who have been living quietly as Christians may now be arrested in the next few days," said the Barnabus Fund, which runs a major international campaign on behalf of converts

The Egyptian authorities have not yet reacted to the charges, however there has been among hardliners about what they regard as Western (Christian) influences in the mainly Islamic country, where Christians make up about 6 percent of the population.

FALSIFYING ID PAPERS

Officially the 22 arrested Christians being charged "with falsifying ID papers," apparently because they changed their Muslim names into Christian names, the Barnabus Fund reported.

"Whilst Egypt has no law against apostasy from Islam, in practice converts are actively punished by the police in this 90% Muslim country. (They) often face imprisonment, beatings and torture on various pretexts in order to try to force them to return to Islam."

A Christian who converts to Islam in Egypt can receive ID papers with a new adopted Muslim name within 24 hours, but "it is impossible for a Muslim who converts to Christianity to change their name to a Christian one at all," said the Barnabus Fund.

"Thus they will always be regarded as Muslims in the eyes of the law."

TORTURE AND INTERROGATION

The initial arrest of the first Christians, Yusuf and Mariam, came about as a result of information obtained by police through the torture and interrogation of a Christian who revealed that the married couple were converts from Islam, the organization said.

They allegedly were involved in leading other Muslims to convert to Christianity. "An investigation was opened by police in the Al-Muski quarter of Cairo and the couple was eventually arrested in Alexandria, "beaten, abused, tortured and taken by police to a station in Al Muski," in the capital.

Cairo Christians have reportedly brought food for the couple but the police has so far reportedly refused to allow this to be given to them. Local Christians have managed to obtain the services of a team of Christian and Muslim lawyers to defend the accused.

HUSBAND RELEASED

"They have managed to secure the release of Yusuf who will be fined" and was expected leave the police station later Friday, October 24, while a court case against him is still be outstanding. His wife Mariam will be held in prison for a month whilst the investigation is being conducted against the couple.

She was due to be transferred to a prison later Friday, Oct. 24. The other 20 Christians who have been arrested were held at a police station in el Galaa, Cairo, "but could be moved from there at any time," to a yet unknown location, the Barnabus Fund said.

The latest reported crackdown comes only months after Naglaa, a female Egyptian convert from Islam and her Christian husband Malak were arrested on similar charges of falsifying ID papers. They have been held in prison since 26 February 2003.

Police have reportedly tried to force Naglaa to give up her Christian faith and return to Islam, to leave her husband, and to raise her children as Muslims

KILLINGS IN PRISON

Human rights workers say that many converts have faced imprisonment, beatings and torture. Some are said to have died in prison, while others have fled Egypt, Africa's second largest country with over 66 million people.

"Converts have sometimes been arrested under the country’s emergency legislation which allows for the holding of suspects without charge or trial for indefinite periods, " the Barnabus Fund said.

The Fund has urged Muslim religious leaders to condemn the harsh treatment of converts "and to make public statements calling for a reform of shari’a teaching on apostasy."

That would "clearly affirm that Muslims who choose to convert to another faith are free to follow their personal convictions without fear of punishment or harassment[/l]

Washington D.C (10/23/03) – U.S. Copts Association received several phone calls from families and friends of over 20 Egyptian secret converts from Islam to Christianity who have been detained by the Egyptian police since October 20th.

The assault started with the arrest of a husband and wife who secretly converted from Islam to Christianity. Yousef Samuel Makari Suliman, whose former Muslim name was Muhammad Ahmad Imam al-Kurdi and his wife Mariam Girgis Makar formerly Saher El-Sayid Abd al-Kani and their two daughters, Sarah and Marina (formerly Sarah and Shaymaa) all had secretly converted to Christianity and had been living as Christians in hiding. The couple was arrested by Colonel Taha Afify from the Criminal Investigative Research unit in the civilian affairs department of Alexandria police. Lawyers who were able to visit the couple report that Mariam Girgis has been the subject of sexual assault and attempted rape by police officers. In addition, she and her husband were beaten and physically abused. An investigation was opened by police in the Al-Muski police station of Cairo (case no 3793 for the year 2003) after the couple was transferred from Alexandria.
Following the arrest of Yousef and Mariam, the police arrested individuals who helped them secure new ID cards with new Christian names. Under sever torture; the police was able to extract the names of some 100 other converts who secured new ID cards with Christian names. Immediately, thereafter, 20 more converts were arrested in Alexandria alone.

Officially the 22 arrested converts being charged "with falsifying ID papers," because they obtained new ID cards with their Christian names. Initial reports indicated that lawyers were able to negotiate the release of Yousef from police custody; however, we are told this information is inaccurate. Both Yousef and Mariam are still in prison while their children are with friends.

U.S. Copts Association is concerned that the Egyptian police maybe targeting at least 100 converts from Islam to be arrested in the upcoming days. ‘It is ironic that while the Egyptian constitution guarantees the individuals’ freedom to change his or her religion, the Egyptian government repeatedly violates the constitution by harassing, torturing, raping, and holding converts indefinitely to pressure them to leave their new faith. In addition the government does not legally recognize conversion from Islam to Christianity and, as a result, converts lose all their rights, inheritance and all positions” said Michael Meunier, president of U.S. Copts Association.

The U.S. Copts Association will be leading a congressional campaign in the U.S. Congress to ensure that this repeated violation of individuals’ rights and freedom by the Egyptian government is exposed.
